Overview

Even with comprehensive coverage from your primary medical plan, you will still have some out-of-pocket expenses if you become critically ill or are seriously injured. These policies are designed to fulfill a variety of needs, including supplementing your existing medical coverage to give you additional financial support when something unexpected happens. Life is unpredictable, and having these supplementary health benefits can help you be prepared no matter what happens. A supplemental health policy can help you offset your deductible or pay any other expenses in case of an accident, serious illness or hospital stay.

We offer three supplemental health insurance policies administered by Transamerica Life Insurance Company to all regular employees working 20 hours or more:

For more information, including monthly paycheck costs and benefit payment amounts, visit the supplemental benefits site.

This is not major medical insurance and is not a substitute for major medical insurance. It does not qualify as minimum essential health coverage under the federal Affordable Care Act.

Supplemental benefit policies are offered by Transamerica and are not ERISA-covered group health insurance plans. Enrollment is completely voluntary. If you enroll in a policy, you must deal directly with the insurance company to request assistance or submit a claim.
